An Insurance Leader Cut Operational Costs by 38% Using Translation and Dubbing with Devnagri AI

About the Customer
The customer is one of India’s leading health insurance companies. The company has an ever-expanding product portfolio. Their daily operations touch millions spread across policy documents, compliance-driven notices, brochures, training material, and even customer explainer videos.
In such an environment, accuracy in language isn’t optional. It’s critical, since the audience includes Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, where English isn’t the primary medium.
Challenge
The company had one lingering problem that had grown over the years. The company was growing, but its distribution in multiple languages wasn't keeping up.
Policy forms, pamphlets, and claims kits were still sent through sluggish, manual translation chains. Rollouts continued missing their deadlines.
Training and customer-facing explanation videos were meant to be available in several Indian languages. The translation process was fragmented, handled by multiple providers, and the results were inconsistent.
Terminology was the biggest problem. A simple phrase like ‘waiting period’ had three different versions across vendors. Cashless benefits weren't standardized. Regulatory submissions flagged it more than once.
So while the English-first process kept moving, the multilingual side was lagging, bringing the overall customer satisfaction and regulatory confidence down.
Solution
We built a multilingual content pipeline that sat inside their existing content workflows—no parallel system, no duplication. It ran in three layers:
1. Document Translation
We embedded Devnagri’s API directly with their document management system. Every change—policy T&Cs, brochures, compliance circulars—fed into our pipeline automatically.
To avoid confusion, we established an insurance lexicon that followed IRDAI criteria and became the only version of the truth.
2. Video Localization & Dubbing
We dubbed their onboarding videos and product demos into nine different languages. AI-powered dubbing with human validation sped things up without changing the meaning. We adjusted pacing to maintain natural lip-sync where required.
3. Collateral Translation
From claims forms to FAQ sheets, we standardized every collateral piece. The hybrid approach—AI for speed and linguists for context—ensured compliance-heavy phrases stayed accurate while retaining clarity for regional audiences.
